So why does she "disappear"? Well, she doesn't really; as she says, she is in ALL the parallel universes equally forever and everywhere. But she cannot be "located" in the sense that it cannot be said that she exists HERE and not THERE. She has "delocalized."

I loved that part, because it implies that the writers and directors understood quite a subtlety -- there is an equivalent of the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle in this system.
